For years Texas Pure Clean held a monthly contract cleaning the front of the historic Majestic Theater in downtown San Antonio — columns, signage, sidewalks, and the ticket area — using a 1,000-gallon water tank and the right chemistry for delicate finishes.
The Majestic Theater on Houston Street is one of the most recognizable historic buildings in downtown San Antonio. The marquee, the ornate columns, the tiled entry, and the covered sidewalk all give the theater its presence. For a long time, Texas Pure Clean held the contract to clean the front of that building every single month.

What the Monthly Scope Covered
Every month we cleaned the front-of-house areas that visitors see first: the columns, the Majestic Building signage, the sidewalks, and the ticket area. The building is old, and a lot of the finishes are delicate — the painted trim, the detailed signage, and the stone and tile surfaces all needed an approach that could lift dirt and grime without damaging anything that had been there for decades.
This was not a job where you walk up with a pressure wand and blast away. The wrong pressure or the wrong chemical could strip paint, etch stone, or dull the finishes that make the Majestic look like the Majestic. We used the right chemical solutions and the right pressures for each surface, and we adjusted as needed based on what was actually happening out there.
No Water Supply? No Problem
One of the practical challenges at the Majestic was that there was no water supply available for us on the front of the building. We could not just hook up to a spigot and start working. So we showed up with a 1,000-gallon water tank on the rig, our own hoses, our own pumps, and the chemicals we needed.
That self-contained setup let us work on the front of the theater without depending on the building's utilities. It also meant we could control the water quality and pressure from start to finish, which matters a lot on a historic building where the finishes are not replaceable.
More Than Just a Scheduled Cleaning
The Majestic was a beautiful building to work on, but it was also a building that had its share of real-world challenges. From time to time, people would find their way into the covered front area and leave a mess. When that happened, the theater needed it handled quickly and restored to a clean, welcoming condition.
Texas Pure Clean was able to respond and bring the front of the building back to where it needed to be. For us, it was genuinely an honor and a pleasure to help maintain such a historic and beautiful part of downtown San Antonio.
A Great Run, and a Natural End
Eventually the city of San Antonio put together its own crew and began cleaning that whole downtown corridor. When that happened, the Majestic no longer needed us, and we moved on. But we had a lot of fun there, and it remains one of the most memorable projects we have been part of in San Antonio.
